August 20th 1720 from the Aquitances Books of St Paul's Cathedral: 'Received the sum of one hundred and fourteen pounds and five shillings...for carpenters work in making the scaffold from the Whispering Gallery up to the Intablature...' One of many such entries for Meard between 1715-1728.

August 6th 1700 from the Freedom Admissions Register of the Carpenters' Company: 'John Meard of St Anne's Soho was bound to John Meard Citizen and Turner... his father and Master admitted to this Freedom.'

August 12th 1735 from the General Court of the Carpenters' Company: Meard's election as Master, following John James.
